Living from the Heart of Mary
A spirituality of faith, trust, humility and charity, shaped in the light of Mary and lived out in everyday service.
The cordimarian spirituality is a defining feature of the charism of Mother María Güell and the Congregation. It is not simply a form of devotion, but a concrete way of living the Gospel in the light and example of the Virgin Mary, gentle and humble of heart.
In the Heart of Mary, the Congregation finds a school of interior life: a place to learn how to listen to the Word, to trust in God, to live fraternal charity, and to remain open to the demands of the mission. Welcoming and faithfully living this gift is an essential part of the path of the Missionary Daughters of the Heart of Mary.
Evangelical foundation
This spirituality is deeply rooted in the Gospel. Mary appears as the one who listens, keeps and ponders in her heart the words and events of Jesus. Her heart becomes a place of welcome, faithful remembrance and total openness to God’s will.
To live from the Heart of Mary is to learn from her a faith that listens, a hope that trusts even in trial, and a charity that becomes humble, quiet and fruitful service. In her, the Congregation finds its model, its inspiration and a sure path to follow Christ more faithfully.
The Heart of Mary
The Heart of Mary is a school of interior life. There we learn to listen to God, to treasure His Word, to respond with simplicity and to remain faithful in every circumstance. It is also a school of concrete love: Mary’s “yes” becomes self-giving, service and cooperation in the work of Christ.
Mother María Güell contemplated in the Heart of Mary the model of a life wholly oriented toward God and deeply open to others. For this reason, she desired that her daughters live with filial love for the Virgin, learning from her humility, simplicity, charity, interior silence and perseverance.
We must have boundless trust in the Heart of Mary.
