Lift up your eyes and see…

A reflection
So often we live looking down:
at worries, at fear, at tiredness, at everything that seems uncertain.
Jesus invites us to lift up our eyes.
Not to escape reality, but to discover that God is still at work within it.
Hope begins when we learn to look again with faith.
A word from Mother María
Mother María Güell knew how to look beyond the difficulties of her time.
Her trust did not come from having everything under control, but from believing that God was still guiding the way.
“Always cultivate the presence of God.” (CR 127)
When we lift our eyes toward Him, the heart finds light again.
In communion with the Church
During this month, marked by the apostolic visit of Pope Leo XIV to Spain, we welcome once again the invitation of the Gospel:
“Lift up your eyes.”
To lift up our eyes means opening ourselves to God, recognizing signs of hope, and going out to meet others with humble and simple charity.
Gesture of the month
This week, choose one simple moment to lift up your eyes:
- Spend a few minutes in silence.
- Contemplate something beautiful without rushing.
- Give thanks for a sign of hope.
- Look at someone with greater kindness.
And ask yourself: Where is God at work today?
Prayer (1 minute)
Lord,
when tiredness narrows my horizon,
teach me to lift up my eyes.
Help me discover
that You are still at work,
even in small things,
even in silence.
Mary,
teach me to look with hope.
Amen.
