A FLAME OF CHARITY
Digital Leaflet · No. 2 (March 2026)
Back to the heart: from silence to forgiveness
Main quote
“Live recollected and keep silence well. The one who keeps silence perceives the voice of Jesus who speaks gently to the heart in solitude.”
— Mother Maria Güell
This is not only for religious sisters: it is a path for anyone who wants to return to what matters most.
A brief idea
When life is noisy, we react. When we enter silence, we begin to see.
In silence, God does not accuse: He illuminates. He shows us where we became hard, where we closed ourselves, where we hurt others or kept distance.
And that light is not to shame us, but to move us toward what is most Christian: taking the first step. Asking forgiveness. Forgiving. Reconciling.
Gesture of the month: reconciliation (forgiveness)
Choose one of these actions (the most possible for you):
- Ask forgiveness for something specific (without excuses).
- Forgive: send a simple message: “Peace. I’m here.”
- Reconcile: make a brief call to open a way.
If today you cannot, start with the minimum: pray for that person for one minute.
Prayer (1 minute)
Lord Jesus,
bring silence to my heart.
Show me, truthfully, what I need to change,
and give me humility to ask forgiveness
and courage to forgive.
May Your love reconcile me within
and make me an instrument of peace.
Amen.
“The rest is vanity.”
